New York City

I had the opportunity to go to NY this past weekend to attend a conference for work/pleasure. I have been to NYC a couple of times before, but never really had time to explore and see some of the many sights. It was great, but every time I go I realize that I would not like to live in NY, atelast not anywhere close to downtown. However, it is a great place to visit with plenty of things to do and see.

We arrived pretty late, but there were still thousands of people running around in Times Square. Our hotel was right off of Times Square which was nice.
We happened across this fellow outside M&M World. It is a fun place with a ton of M&M's everywhere!

One of the best things was the 'Top of the Rock' or the top of the Rockefeller center. The view is amazing! You really can see the whole city, and it gave me the perspective of how big NY really is. Definitely a must do!
Another view from the top. In the back is the Empire State Building and if you look really close you can see the Statue of Liberty
On the other side you can see Central Park.

I had never seen the Manhattan Temple. As we were walking we almost passed it, it really fits in to the NY scenery. We went inside and found it to be a really great place, where the chapel is on the top, temple being on the second floor. A perfect Temple design for NYC.
One of the best thingsn to do in NY is to see a Broadway play. This trip I saw the Phantom of the Opera. It was amazing. I had heard the music all growing up but had never seen the show or movie, and now I can check that off of my list. It was great!
We took the Staton Island Ferry to go out past the Statue of Liberty. This is the view leaving the city headed towards Staton Island.

Of all the things that I was able to see in NY I think seeing this pretty lady was one of my favorite. It was a perfect beautiful day. I kept thinking about all the thousand of immigrants who had passed this iconic statue on their way to America and how they must have felt. It was surreal to say the least.

I love New York, but only to visit. Great sights, Great Food, and so much to see.

I think you might want to stress that its the city you like.. not New York in general.. remember, you have someone from upstate new york who reads your blog so you might want to specify! and yes.. I like the city but would never want to live anywhere near there!
